How to REUSE your Farmer's daughter candle jar!

Don't you love your new Farmer's Daughter Candle?

We knew you would!  If you are like us, you are looking for ways to reuse and re purpose your candle jars!  All of our candles are made from High Quality glass or ceramic with one thing in mind....re using them! Below are our tips to say goodbye to your nearly used candle, and HELLO to something new to stash in the cupboard.  Comment below if you have any tips or suggestions for other shoppers!

  1. Step One :  Take one final sniff and say your sweet goodbyes! Make sure the candle is no longer lit and the remaining wax is solid at room temp.  Then take a big goodbye see you later, it was fabulous-  SNiFF.
  2. Place your remaining Candle in the Freezer!  I left mine for about 2 hours, and the candle was already solid at room temp before hand.  I should mention that if you put your HOT candle into the freezer you will break the glass.  Its Science people- don't do it.
3. After a few hours-  take your candle out and let it get room temp on the counter. 5-10 minutes does it. Yes, I know this feels like a bunch of waiting- but I did mine in between laundry, cooking dinner and  tasting beers.  It wasn't so bad! When the glass is no longer- foggy from the freezer ( see below) you can get started!

4. Now here is my favorite part!  gently STAB your wax with a butter knife or even a fork and VOILA it should come right out in one piece!  I save mine in a big zip lock bag for rainy day candle making with leftovers.  That blog post will come another day! Dont be worried if yours doesn't come right out. Sometimes it takes a few gentle stabs. (  I say gentle so you don't break the glass.) you can always break it up into pieces and shake it out.

5.  We try not to use too much glue or yucky stuff to get the wicks to stick-  but sometimes there is a little residue left over. See that brown spot?  If your glass is room temp ( no longer cold at all) then you can move along to clean it up!

6.  A little Rubbing Alcohol goes a long way! I put a teeny dab on a home-made recycled cotton round and buffed out the residue.  Then, warm soapy water and VOILA!  You're done!  I think Voila is my new favorite word, Just saaaaaaaying.
